Good Afternoon, My name is PCSO 44 Hill and I am writing to provide you an update of my patrol plan and engagement work that I have carried out in my ward area of Tong. This week, I have focused on addressing local concerns, maintaining a visible presence and worked to support the community. Provided home visits to numerous elderly residents who have been victim of crime within the Holmewood area. Further crime prevention equipment has been provided to these residents to make them feel safer. Patrolled both parade of shops within Holmewood to combat anti-social behaviour and to make the shops feel like a safe place for residents to visit. Further action has been taken regarding those regularly involved in anti-social behaviour. Further anti-social behaviour patrols were completed on Darren Street / Arkwright Street in Sutton and Hambledon Avenue in Bierley. Attended a meeting at Holme in the Wood café, located on Bottom Parade, Holmewood. The meeting was a chance for local residents to speak with MP Judith Cummins regarding what the estate needed and how funding should be spent on making Holmewood a better place. 1 x stolen motorbike seized from Holmewood. 1 x disqualified driver reported and their vehicle seized in Bierley. Submitted fly tipping reports for locations within Tong Village, Holmewood and Bierley. Have provided reassurance for victims of criminal damage, harassment and burglary. These are all under investigation and further enquiries are ongoing. The 18th to the 24th May is Knife Crime Awareness Week. With this in mind, I have reached out to all primary schools within the Tong Ward to offer a presentation to the older students on knife crime and the repercussions to help educate children and create a safer future. On the 22nd April, at 10am, we have a police street surgery at Hambledon Avenue, Bierley. This will be attended by local partners, including the council, and will give you the opportunity for you to attend and voice any opinions or issues you are facing within the Tong ward Community. Patrols will be continued in line with ongoing ward priorities. If you have any concerns or information you would like to share, please do not hesitate to get in touch. |
